Erik Townsend is a retired software entrepreneur and hedge fund manager. He is the host of the MacroVoices podcast and an investor passionate about advanced nuclear energy.

Townsend's career began in 1983 as a consultant at Digital Equipment Corp., where he pioneered concepts now known as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). In 1992, he founded The Cushing Group, Inc.
