Egemen Bağış is a former Turkish politician with a distinguished career in government and international relations. He served as the first Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator in the 61st Government, leading Türkiye's full membership negotiations with the EU from 2009 to 2014. Prior to this, he was appointed Minister of State and Chief Negotiator in January 2009. Bağış also held the position of Member of Parliament from 2002 to 2015.
