Edward Paul Lazear was an American economist, recognized for his academic contributions and public service. He was the Morris Arnold and Nona Jean Cox Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and the Davies Family Professor of Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Lazear is widely regarded as the founder of personnel economics, a field that applies economic models to the study of human resources management within firms.
