Edward I. Altman is the Max L. Heine Professor of Finance, Emeritus, at New York University's Stern School of Business, where he has been a faculty member since 1967. He is widely recognized for his groundbreaking work in financial risk management, particularly for developing the Altman Z-score, a multivariate formula published in 1968 for predicting corporate bankruptcy.
