Eduardo M. Peñalver serves as the President of Seattle University, a position he assumed on July 1, 2021. Prior to his current role, he was the Allan R. Tessler Dean and Professor of Law at Cornell Law School from 2014 until 2021.

As a legal academic, President Peñalver's scholarship centers on property and land use, as well as law and religion. His work investigates how the law mediates the interests of individuals and communities, with his writings appearing in numerous leading law journals.
