Dante Lauretta is a Regents Professor of Planetary Science at the University of Arizona and a professor of planetary science and cosmochemistry at the university's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory. He also serves as the Director of the Arizona Astrobiology Center.
Lauretta is the Principal Investigator for NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission, which marks the first U.S. mission to collect and return a sample from an asteroid.
