Droupadi Murmu is an Indian politician who has served as the President of India since 2022. She won the 2022 presidential election with the backing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Murmu holds several distinctions in her role, being the first person belonging to a tribal community, the second woman after Pratibha Patil, the youngest person at 64, and the first president born in independent India to occupy the post.
