Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng is a South African physician, author, and broadcaster recognized for her work as the United Nations' Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health. In this role, which she held until June 2025, she campaigned for universal health access, HIV care, and sexual and reproductive health rights. She made history as the first woman and first African to hold this distinguished UN position, and was named one of the BBC's 100 Women in 2021.
