David J. Betz is a Canadian professor and researcher specializing in war studies. He serves as Professor of War in the Modern World at the Department of War Studies, King's College London, a position he has held since joining the department in 2002.

Betz also holds a senior fellow position at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He earned his BA and MA degrees from Carleton University and a PhD from the University of Glasgow in 2002.
