Douglas J. McCauley is a professor of ocean science at the University of California Santa Barbara and serves as the director of the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory, an applied ocean research center based at UC Santa Barbara's Marine Science Institute. He is also a Co-Director at the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center for Data Science & Environment at UC Berkeley and an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
