Dorothee Bär is a prominent German politician affiliated with the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU). Since 2025, she has served as the Federal Minister of Research, Technology and Space in the government of Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Her political career began early, joining the Young Union (JU) in 1996 and the CSU in 1994.
Bär has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2002, representing the Bad Kissingen electoral district.
