He currently serves as Chairman of Rio Tinto, the world's second largest metals and mining corporation, and Chairman of LeapFrog Investments, a private investment firm focused on impact investing in high-growth, emerging markets. From 2019 to 2021, Barton was the Canadian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China.
