Dlawer Ala'Aldeen is the Founding President of the Middle East Research Institute (MERI), a policy-research institute. In this role, he focuses on policy research concerning Iraq and the broader Middle East. His areas of interest include stabilisation, peace building, good governance, rule of law, human rights, political economy, security dynamics, regional power dynamics, institutionalisation, leadership, reform, and higher education.
