Didier Sornette is a French researcher and academic, currently serving as a Chair Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China, since 2019. He is recognized for his extensive work in complex systems, risk management, earthquake physics, and financial crises. He also holds the title of Professor Emeritus at ETH Zurich, where he previously held the Chair of Entrepreneurial Risks from 2006 to 2022.
