Biography

Deborah Esther Lipstadt is an American historian and diplomat, recognized for her extensive work on Holocaust denial and antisemitism. She currently holds the position of Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University, a role she has maintained since 1993. From 2022 to 2025, Lipstadt served as the United States Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism, following her nomination by President Joe Biden in 2021 and confirmation in 2022.
