David Wessel is an American journalist and writer known for his extensive career covering economics and public policy. He currently serves as the founding director of the Hutchins Center on Fiscal & Monetary Policy at The Brookings Institution and is a contributing correspondent to The Wall Street Journal. Wessel worked at The Wall Street Journal for 30 years and frequently appears on National Public Radio's Morning Edition. He has shared two Pulitzer Prizes for journalism.
