David R. Kotok is the Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor at Cumberland Advisors, an investment firm he co-founded in 1973. He served as Chief Investment Officer from the firm's inception until December 2024. An economist and investor, Kotok is also the author of "The Fed and the Flu - Parsing Pandemic Economic Shocks," published in 2025, and has authored or co-authored several other works.
