Biography

Dario Amodei is an American artificial intelligence researcher and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, a company known for its frontier large language model series Claude. Amodei co-founded Anthropic in 2021 with his sister Daniela Amodei and other former senior members of OpenAI, citing directional differences as the reason for their departure. In November 2023, he declined offers from OpenAI's board to replace Sam Altman and potentially merge the two startups.
