Daniel Diermeier has served as the ninth chancellor of Vanderbilt University since July 1, 2020. Prior to this, he was the provost of the University of Chicago from 2016 until 2020, where he also held the position of David Lee Shillinglaw Distinguished Service Professor in the Harris School of Public Policy and the College at University of Chicago’s Department of Political Science.
Diermeier is recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Guggenheim Foundation.
