Biography

Colin Gavaghan is a Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Otago. Since 2009, he has served as the Director of the Emerging Technologies Centre within the Faculty of Law, where he focuses on the legal and ethical implications of new technologies.

In addition to his academic roles, Gavaghan chairs the NZ Police Expert Panel on Emergent Technologies. He holds an LLB (hons.) and a Ph.D.
