Claire Maracle serves as the Executive Director of Words Of The People, where she champions Indigenous language creative production. She identifies as Kanien'kehá:ka/Mohawk and is a member of the Six Nations of the Grand River, having been raised in Oklahoma.

As a storyteller, community builder, and creative strategist, Maracle works at the intersection of language justice, arts, and liberation. She is also a Co-Founder of Poetic Justice Inc.
