Cindy Yu is a British-Chinese journalist, contributing editor, and columnist at The Times. She hosts the fortnightly podcast 'Chinese Whispers,' which covers Chinese politics, society, and culture.

Yu's career includes an internship at The Spectator, where she later became broadcast editor, managing the magazine's audio and video output. While at The Spectator, she launched her podcast, 'Chinese Whispers,' in July 2020. She joined The Times in May 2025 as a columnist and contributing editor.
