Christopher Allen Wright is the 17th United States Secretary of Energy, having been sworn into office on February 3, 2025. Nominated by President-elect Donald Trump on November 16, 2024, his appointment was confirmed by the U.S. Senate with a 59–38 vote. As Secretary of Energy, Wright has overseen rollbacks of climate change mitigation policies and advocated for increased fossil fuel use.
Prior to his government service, Wright had a significant career in the energy sector.
