Biography

Charles Eugene "Chip" Roy is an American attorney and politician who represents Texas's 21st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A member of the Republican Party, he took office on January 3, 2019. Roy is a member and policy chair of the House Freedom Caucus, aligning him with the most conservative faction of the House Republican Conference. In August 2025, he announced his candidacy for Texas Attorney General in the 2026 elections.
