John Doherty is the Chef-Owner of Black Barn Restaurant, which he opened in Manhattan's NoMad neighborhood in 2015. Prior to this, he served as the executive chef of the Waldorf=Astoria hotel in New York City for 23 years, leaving in 2009. He became the executive chef of the Waldorf in 1985 at the age of 27, making him the youngest person ever to hold the position. He is noted for having cooked for more Presidents, Kings, and dignitaries from around the world than any other chef in history.
