Charitha Pattiaratchi is a Winthrop Professor of coastal oceanography at The University of Western Australia. His research focuses on how coastal ocean circulation influences weather, nutrient dispersal, pollutant transport, sediment dynamics, and ecosystem functioning in both coastal and adjacent deep ocean environments. He integrates ocean simulation, observation, and analysis to understand the role of physical processes in these systems.
