Biography

Chad Gregory Chronister is an American law enforcement officer and politician who has served as the Sheriff of Hillsborough County, Florida since 2017. In November 2024, President-elect Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Chronister as Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration, a nomination he withdrew on December 3, 2024.

Chronister began his career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in 1992, starting as a patrol deputy and SWAT operator.
