Chad P. Bown is an American economist currently serving as the Reginald Jones Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE), a position he returned to in early 2025. He is also the host of the "Trade Talks" podcast, where he discusses topics related to international trade.
From January 2024 to January 2025, Bown served as chief economist at the U.S. Department of State in the Biden administration.
