Carolina Are is a digital criminologist and LSE Fellow in Interdisciplinary Social Science at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research explores the intersection of online harms and freedom of speech, with a particular emphasis on digital rights in the context of social media platform governance, artificial intelligence, digital work, and marginalized communities.
