He currently serves as the President of Together for Catalonia (Junts) since 2024 and is a deputy of Junts per Catalunya in the Parliament of Catalonia, operating from exile in Belgium. Puigdemont previously held the office of the 130th President of the Government of Catalonia from 2016 to 2017 and was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2019 to 2024.
