Carl M. Cannon is an American journalist currently serving as the executive editor and Washington, D.C. bureau chief of RealClearPolitics, a role he took on in 2011. Born in California in 1953, he is a graduate of the University of Colorado.

Cannon's extensive career in journalism includes reporting positions at various newspapers across the United States, such as in Petersburg, Virginia, Columbus, Georgia, The San Diego Tribune, the San Jose Mercury News, and The Baltimore Sun.
