Candace Nelson, an Indonesian-born American pastry chef and entrepreneur, began her career in investment banking and the internet startup scene. Following the dot-com bust, she shifted her focus to pastry making, attending Tante Marie's Professional Pastry Program. In 2005, she opened Sprinkles Cupcakes in Beverly Hills, which became known as the world's first cupcake bakery.
