Robert Upshur Woodward is an American investigative journalist known for his extensive career covering American politics and current affairs. He began working for The Washington Post as a reporter in 1971 and currently holds the honorific title of associate editor there, though the Post no longer employs him.
In 1972, while a reporter for The Washington Post, Woodward teamed up with Carl Bernstein to conduct much of the original news reporting on the Watergate scandal.
