William Thomas Winters is the Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank, a role he has held since June 2015. Prior to this, he spent 26 years at JP Morgan, joining as a trainee in 1983. He became co-head of JP Morgan's investment bank in 2004, based in London, and was key in the development of credit derivatives markets. Winters earned credit for helping the investment bank avoid structured products and off-balance sheet vehicles that impacted global markets.
