Bernard Emié, born on September 6, 1958, is a senior French diplomat. He graduated from Sciences Po in 1979 and later from the École nationale d'administration (ÉNA). Emié began his career in the French Foreign Ministry as a Secretary in 1983, serving as second secretary in New Delhi from 1984 to 1986.
His early diplomatic postings included counsellor at the French embassy in Washington, D.C., and deputy director for North Africa and the Middle East at the French foreign ministry.
