Biography

Rebecca Lester is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a position she has held since joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor in July 2015. Her research focuses on understanding how accounting rules and tax policy influence the investment decisions of both domestic and multinational firms.

Her work has specifically explored how U.S. tax regulations have incentivized firms to reinvest cash offshore rather than repatriate it to the United States.
