Biography

Barry S. Strauss is an American historian and a professor of history and humanistic studies at Cornell University, where he also directs the Program on Freedom and Free Societies. He is also a visiting Corliss Page Dean Fellow at the Hoover Institution. Strauss specializes in ancient military history, teaching courses on ancient Greece, war and peace in the ancient world, and the history of battle.
