Barry Silbert is an American entrepreneur and investor, currently serving as the CEO of the Digital Currency Group. In 2004, Silbert founded SecondMarket, an online marketplace designed for shares in private technology companies. This venture was valued at $200 million in 2011 before its acquisition by Nasdaq in 2015.

Silbert's involvement with digital assets began early, as he started buying Bitcoin in 2012.
