Barry Charles Diller, born on February 2, 1942, in San Francisco, California, is an American billionaire businessman. He began his career in the mailroom of the William Morris Agency before joining ABC in 1964. At ABC, Diller was promoted to Vice President of Development in 1965, where he created the ABC Movie of the Week, pioneering the concept of the made-for-television movie. By 1973, he became vice president of ABC's prime time programming.
