Barnabás Szabó is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge's Centre for Geopolitics. As a historian of early modern Britain and Spain, his research focuses on how composite monarchies and emerging unions were governed, contested, and maintained, and how these historical questions inform contemporary debates on statehood, security, and political cohesion.
