Ardem Patapoutian is a Lebanese-American molecular biologist and neuroscientist, recognized for his groundbreaking work on the biological receptors for temperature and touch. He is a Professor at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, and an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. In 2021, he was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with David Julius for his discoveries.
