Apoorva Mehta was born in 1986 in Jodhpur, India, and moved to Libya shortly after. In 2000, at age 14, his family relocated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He pursued higher education at the University of Waterloo, where he earned an electrical engineering degree.
Mehta began his career with brief stints as a design engineer at Blackberry and Qualcomm. In 2008, he joined Amazon as a supply-chain engineer, a role he held until 2010.
