Andy Haldane is a British economist known for his extensive career at the Bank of England and his contributions to economic thought. Born in Sunderland, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Sheffield in 1988 and a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Warwick in 1989. He taught himself mathematics at A-level, noting he was "very far from being natural at maths.
