Andrew Mark Cuomo is an American lawyer and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 56th Governor of New York from 2011 until his resignation in 2021. Prior to his governorship, Cuomo held significant roles in both state and federal government. He served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 1997 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton and as New York Attorney General from 2006 to 2010.
