Andrew Sentance is a British business economist. He served as an external member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of England from October 2006 until May 2011. During his tenure, which spanned the financial crisis and global recession, he notably opposed the majority MPC view to keep the Bank Rate at 0.5% when the economy was recovering and inflation was persistently above target.
