Biography

Andrew Michael Holness is a Jamaican politician serving as Prime Minister of Jamaica since March 2016. He previously held the office from October 2011 to January 2012. Holness has led the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) since 2011.

In 2011, at 39, he became the youngest person ever to serve as Prime Minister in Jamaica's history. He is also the first head of government to receive a doctorate degree while serving in office and the first Prime Minister born after Jamaica gained independence in 1962.
