André Ventura is a prominent Portuguese politician and the founder of the far-right political party Chega. He currently serves as the leader of the opposition following Portugal's 2025 legislative election. Ventura's political career began with an affiliation with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) until 2018, during which he ran for Mayor of Loures in 2017. He founded Chega in April 2019 and was subsequently elected to the Assembly of the Republic in October 2019.
