Inger Andersen is a Danish economist and environmentalist who currently serves as the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. In this role, she also holds the title of UN Under-Secretary-General. Appointed in February 2019, Ms. Andersen advocates for action on the triple planetary crisis, which encompasses climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste.
