Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam is a Norwegian-Iranian neuroscientist and human rights advocate. He serves as a Professor of neuroscience at the Medical faculty, University of Oslo, where he also leads the laboratory of molecular neuroscience. His specialties in neuroscience include brain edema, Stroke, Epilepsy, and water channels.

Amiry-Moghaddam is also the Co-founder and Leader of the NGO "Iran Human Rights.
