Allison Okamura is a Richard W. Weiland Professor at Stanford University, holding appointments in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. She directs the CHARM (Collaborative Haptics and Robotics in Medicine) Lab at Stanford, where her team develops principles and tools for advanced robotic and human-machine systems capable of haptic (touch) interaction.
